If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or emotionally drained, you may be wondering:
Do I need therapy—or would coaching help?
Here’s the simple truth: therapy and mental wellbeing coaching serve different purposes, and both are valuable.
Therapy is clinical care provided by licensed professionals. It focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health conditions, processing trauma, and supporting those in crisis or deep emotional distress.
Mental wellbeing & stress management coaching, on the other hand, is non-clinical and forward focused. Coaching helps women build practical tools to manage stress, regulate emotions, strengthen mindset, and create sustainable habits that support everyday life.
As a Certified Mental Wellbeing Coach and Mental Health First Aid–certified professional, I do not diagnose or treat mental illness—and I don’t replace therapy. What I do offer is supportive, skill-based coaching for women who feel functional but overwhelmed, burned out, or stuck in survival mode.
Many women choose coaching because they want:
- Practical stress-management tools
- Accountability and encouragement
- Support through life transitions
- A proactive, empowering approach
- Care that complements therapy or medical support
- A more affordable option to support their mental health
Therapy and coaching aren’t competitors, they’re complements.
The right support depends on where you are and what you need right now.
If you’re not in crisis but want guidance, clarity, and tools to help you live well and strengthen your mental fitness and resilience, mental wellbeing coaching may be the right next step.
