About

When we know better, we do better

For nearly two decades, this rock  at the entrance of my neighborhood (also on the cover of my book), has stood through every season with me. Strong, storm-weathered, and still standing. Fourteen years ago, during a season of deep grief and trauma, it became more than a landmark. It became a symbol of strength.

Within nine years, I lost my husband, my father, my little brother, my aunt, one of my best friends, my mother-in-law, my birth mom and my 12 year old pet lab. And, I became a single parent to my daughter who was battling GI health issues.

Through multiple losses, hospice placements, transition of life assistance, medical decisions, caregiving and funeral planning, I learned how to navigate the healthcare system and be a patient advocate.

But what I didn’t learn throughout these years was that I was also going through perimenopause. I knew my mental and physical health were impacted by the grief and caregiving demands, but I also knew that something else had to be contributing to how crappy & off I felt – the weight gain, mood shifts, fatigue, edginess, memory loss, new autoimmune conditions, joint pain, weird itchy ears, and simply not feeling like myself. And even though I went to multiple doctors trying to figure out what was wrong, no one told me I could be in perimenopuase and that this was contributing to ALL of my symptoms, including rising A1c & cholesterol levels, and 12 pounds of stubborn belly fat that I could not lose, which I’d never experienced before.

When I finally discovered I was in perimenopuase (which I never heard of before, only menopause was something I knew a little about) after 10 years of undiagnosed and dismissed symptoms, it became my mission to learn everything I could to help not just myself, but other women who were navigating a broken healthcare system, uninformed physicians bound to 15 minute appointments, and the chaos and changes of perimenopause & menopause.

As a long time health coach and fitness trainer to hundreds of clients, I did “all the right things”, but I still had health challenges during an already difficult time. But knowing what I do now about perimenopause & menopause, I could have taken other steps to feel better and manage my symptoms and those difficulties a bit more easily.

My journey and everything I’ve learned has led me here. To create Inspired By Living Well, where it’s about hope, feeling less alone and getting clear about what it means to be a woman today living well in all areas of life. I am inspired by living well to serve through my passion for empowering lives, one woman at a time, and one bite at a time.

Because one thing I know for sure is that when we know better, we can do (and feel) better!

My Approach

No extremes. No guesswork. No pressure to be anyone but yourself. Just smart, personalized, informed support to help you feel better, stronger, and in charge of your health and your life. I help women know where to let go and when to lean in.

I believe in holistic, science-backed, evidence-based health and wellness, because your body, your brain, and your life are one-of-a-kind. So your plan should be, too. No cookie-cutter programs here.

I’ve invested years in advanced education and specialized training so I can support women in the areas where things often get complicated: hormones, life transitions, weight changes, mood shifts and that ever-present mental load we don’t talk about enough. I help women to have the knowledge to talk to their healthcare providers and be empowered, not gaslit or dismissed. I help my clients get clear and identify what it means for them to feel better, like themselves again and to live well. Together, we take a holistic approach that’s rooted in science but built for real life, not perfection.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

  • Science-backed, evidence-based strategies (not trends or influencer hacks)

  • Lifestyle medicine principles that actually fit into your day and life

  • Simple, sustainable steps, because “all or nothing” usually leads to nothing

  • Private 1:1 & Group support with guidance and accountability

  • Workshops, Programs, Tools & Resources
  • Real talk about what works, what doesn’t, and why

If this sounds like something you need in your life, let’s talk.
